In Italy’s gifting customs, a name day, or onomastico, is also an occasion for giving flowers alongside a birthday; if this is the occasion you want to mark, make the purpose clear in your personal message so that the recipient knows what you are celebrating. In practical terms, a flowering plant is a customary choice for a housewarming or a gift to a host; this gives you another way to approach the occasion when comparing plants with cut flowers, while the availability of the individual product still needs to be checked.
Select a city to see local florists & same-day delivery options
Same-day flower delivery in Savona has an ordering deadline of 16:30, measured in local time. Use the full destination address on the order: street and number, postcode and town, followed by the recipient’s name and contact number. For a building with coded access, supply the entry code at checkout. For an address in Lavagnola or Legino, include the locality together with the street, number and postcode. For the Italian postal line, the postal line uses a five-digit CAP before the town, followed by the two-letter province code; retain the full postal information supplied by the recipient when entering the destination, including both the postcode and the province abbreviation.
A guest’s reservation name should accompany an order for NH Savona Darsena, after you have checked with the hotel that a flower delivery can be accepted. Via Agostino Chiodo 9 is the listed address of NH Savona Darsena; ask the hotel which entrance or reception point should be used when arranging the delivery.
Looking at Italian traditions, chrysanthemums have a particular association with remembrance around 1 and 2 November; for a gift intended to express sympathy, this cultural meaning is relevant to the choice of flowers, rather than treating every flower as interchangeable across occasions. For the choice of flowers, traditional funeral tributes include standing wreaths, known as corone, and flower cushions called cuscini that are laid on the coffin; these describe different forms of tribute, so clarify which arrangement is intended when discussing the flowers for a service. When deciding on the flowers, white calla lilies, roses and gladioli are associated with formal funeral tributes; these are examples of the traditional palette, rather than a promise that a particular stem or arrangement is available for every order, date or delivery destination.
For Italian gift-giving, a ribbon carrying the sender’s name or company is a customary feature of a wreath; when asking about a tribute, specify the wording intended for the ribbon, particularly if the flowers are being sent on behalf of a family, group or organisation. Traditional destinations for a funeral tribute include the church or camera ardente, rather than automatically the family home; confirm the actual venue for the service before choosing an address, because a relative’s home and the place of the ceremony are different destinations.
In Italy, Valentine's Day (San Valentino) is marked on 14 February, with red roses and romantic bouquets associated with the occasion. The calendar marks Women's Day (Festa della Donna) on 8 March, with mimosa traditionally given to women for the occasion. The celebration of Mother's Day (Festa della Mamma) falls on the second Sunday of May, with bouquets and flowering plants among the gifts associated with the occasion. On 25 December, Christmas (Natale) is celebrated, with poinsettias, amaryllis and festive arrangements associated with gifts for the home and for hosts.
If a flower is unavailable, its replacement keeps the style and is of equal or greater value.
You may request a preferred delivery time, but an exact hour is not guaranteed: the request is a preference rather than a booked delivery appointment. Use the order notes to explain any timing request.
You can pay online with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal.
For someone who is travelling, use a hotel, workplace or home address where they will be after arrival, rather than trying to meet them mid-journey; confirm where the recipient will actually be on the intended date before choosing the delivery destination, especially when their plans include a change of hotel or an onward journey.
Before sending to a workplace such as Ufficio del Commercio, check acceptance and include the organisation and department in the address.
If you are planning flowers for a meal at Best Sushi Fusion restaurant, ask the restaurant whether it can accept the delivery and give the reservation name and meal date when discussing arrangements; do not assume that flowers can be left on the table before the guests arrive.
Other listed options include dried flowers, silk flowers, gift baskets, plants, chocolates, perfumes, wine, champagne, preserved roses, cakes and balloons. Check availability for the product you choose.
