A florist in Kirkwall handles the arrangement and delivery when you order from abroad. When choosing the flowers, consider the recipient’s tastes and whether you want the gift to feel personal, formal or understated for the person receiving it. The order can be paid for online in your own currency. A free card message is included, with your wording kept exactly as you write it. Before confirming the order, check the spelling of names and sign the message as you want the recipient to read it, especially when ordering for someone else. People locate the town by Kirkwall and St. Ola War Memorial in conversation, but an order is matched to a street and a postcode, so give the full address of the destination.
Select a city to see local florists & same-day delivery options
Order before 18:00 in the destination’s local time for same-day delivery in Kirkwall. Before submitting, include the recipient’s full name and phone number together with the destination’s street, number, postcode and town. Where access depends on a door code, include that code in the order details.
If you are sending to a guest of Ayre Hotel, check the hotel’s arrangements for accepting flowers and address the order using the name on the reservation. Check that The Kirkwall Hotel can accept flowers for the guest before ordering, using the reservation name to identify them. Check with The Storehouse before sending flowers for a guest, and supply the name on the booking. The street address listed for Ayre Hotel is Ayre Road; ask the hotel which entrance or reception point should be used when arranging the delivery.
Before sending flowers to Kirkwall Grammar School, name the member of staff in full on the order; if there is no class to point to, the caretaker can hold the delivery until the recipient is free. For a delivery to a teacher at Glaitness School, write the name in full and add the class or year group where you know it; the office or the caretaker usually takes the delivery in, so the clearer the name, the surer it reaches the right person. A delivery for Papdale Primary School is normally received by the school office or the caretaker rather than by the person it is for, so give the recipient’s full name and, where there is one, the class or department.
For a service at Saint Magnus Cathedral, ask which entrance is used for flowers and how early a tribute should be there. When a funeral service is held at Kirkwall East Church, confirm with the parish where flowers should be delivered and by what time they need to arrive. If the service takes place at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, the tribute usually goes to the church rather than to the family’s home; confirm the time with whoever is arranging it.
If a flower is unavailable, its replacement keeps the style and is of equal or greater value.
You may request a preferred delivery time, but an exact hour is not guaranteed: the request is a preference rather than a booked delivery appointment. If timing matters for the occasion, describe it in the order notes.
You can pay online with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal.
If the recipient is not home, the florist usually contacts them to discuss the delivery; a further delivery attempt may be arranged.
For someone who is travelling, use a hotel, workplace or home address where they will be after arrival, rather than trying to meet them mid-journey; confirm where the recipient will actually be on the intended date before choosing the delivery destination, especially when their plans include a change of hotel or an onward journey.
Before sending to a workplace such as Sheriff Court, check acceptance and include the organisation and department in the address.
Before ordering flowers for a celebration at Indian Garden, check that the restaurant can keep them until the party arrives, and give the booking name so staff can match them to the right table.
