Before sending flowers to Grundschule "Am Wasserturm", name the member of staff in full on the order; if there is no class to point to, the caretaker can hold the delivery until the recipient is free. For a delivery to a teacher at Grundschule Friedrich Kaden, write the name in full and add the class or year group where you know it; the office or the caretaker usually takes the delivery in, so the clearer the name, the surer it reaches the right person.

Occasions and Sympathy Flowers in Grossschirma

In Germany, Valentine's Day (Valentinstag) is observed on 14 February, with red roses and mixed bouquets associated with the occasion. For those marking Mother's Day (Muttertag), the date is the second Sunday of May, with flowers among the gifts associated with the occasion. The celebration of Christmas (Weihnachten) falls on 24 and 25 December, with table arrangements, amaryllis and poinsettias associated with the occasion. Sunday of the Dead (Totensonntag) takes place on the last Sunday before Advent, with flowers used to mark remembrance at graves. In Germany, red roses can carry a romantic meaning; when choosing flowers for a friend, colleague or host, consider the message you want the gift to convey and use the personal card to make the occasion clear.

When a funeral service is held at Kirche Reichenbach, confirm with the parish where flowers should be delivered and by what time they need to arrive. Flowers for a service at Kirche Großschirma are usually taken in beforehand; the parish office can say how early the church is able to receive them. For a service at Kirche Obergruna, ask whether the flowers should be there before the family arrives, and where in the church they are placed. Within the German tradition, a funeral wreath or arrangement may carry a Schleife, a printed ribbon naming the mourner; if you want a ribbon, specify the requested wording when discussing the tribute, including the names of those sending it. As a guide to the choice of flowers, chrysanthemums, white lilies and white roses are customary choices for funeral flowers; use the occasion and the family’s preferences to guide the choice of tribute, and check the selected product for the flowers it includes. For a gift that reflects the occasion, a Grabgesteck may be placed on a grave for Totensonntag and, in Catholic states, for Allerheiligen; for a tribute intended for a grave, ask the cemetery about the precise location and its arrangements for accepting flowers.
