Occasions and Sympathy Flowers in Johanngeorgenstadt

In Germany, the calendar marks Valentine's Day (Valentinstag) on 14 February, with red roses and mixed bouquets associated with the occasion. Mother's Day (Muttertag) takes place on the second Sunday of May, with flowers among the gifts associated with the occasion. For those marking Christmas (Weihnachten), the date is 24 and 25 December, with table arrangements, amaryllis and poinsettias associated with the occasion. For Sunday of the Dead (Totensonntag), the calendar date is the last Sunday before Advent, with flowers used to mark remembrance at graves. Among German customs, red roses can carry a romantic meaning; when choosing flowers for a friend, colleague or host, consider the message you want the gift to convey and use the personal card to make the occasion clear.

For a service at St. Petrus Canisius, ask which entrance is used for flowers and how early a tribute should be there. Flowers for a service at Stadtkirche are usually taken in beforehand; the parish office can say how early the church is able to receive them. For a service at Landeskirchliche Gemeinschaft Johanngeorgenstadt - Haus der Hoffnung, ask whether the flowers should be there before the family arrives, and where in the church they are placed. Across Germany, a funeral wreath or arrangement may carry a Schleife, a printed ribbon naming the mourner; if you want a ribbon, specify the requested wording when discussing the tribute, including the names of those sending it. For the arrangement itself, chrysanthemums, white lilies and white roses are customary choices for funeral flowers; use the occasion and the family’s preferences to guide the choice of tribute, and check the selected product for the flowers it includes. When discussing the flowers, a Grabgesteck may be placed on a grave for Totensonntag and, in Catholic states, for Allerheiligen; for a tribute intended for a grave, ask the cemetery about the precise location and its arrangements for accepting flowers.
