Occasions and Sympathy Flowers in Rosshaupten

In Germany, on 14 February, Valentine's Day (Valentinstag) is celebrated, with red roses and mixed bouquets associated with the occasion. Mother's Day (Muttertag) is observed on the second Sunday of May, with flowers among the gifts associated with the occasion. Christmas (Weihnachten) is marked on 24 and 25 December, with table arrangements, amaryllis and poinsettias associated with the occasion. For Sunday of the Dead (Totensonntag), the calendar date is the last Sunday before Advent, with flowers used to mark remembrance at graves. In the context of German customs, red roses can carry a romantic meaning; when choosing flowers for a friend, colleague or host, consider the message you want the gift to convey and use the personal card to make the occasion clear.

When a funeral service is held at Kapelle St. Ulrich, confirm with the parish where flowers should be delivered and by what time they need to arrive. Flowers for a service at Maria Steinach are usually taken in beforehand; the parish office can say how early the church is able to receive them. For a service at Mariä Sieben Schmerzen, ask which entrance is used for flowers and how early a tribute should be there. Looking at German traditions, a funeral wreath or arrangement may carry a Schleife, a printed ribbon naming the mourner; if you want a ribbon, specify the requested wording when discussing the tribute, including the names of those sending it. When considering an arrangement, chrysanthemums, white lilies and white roses are customary choices for funeral flowers; use the occasion and the family’s preferences to guide the choice of tribute, and check the selected product for the flowers it includes. In practical terms, a Grabgesteck may be placed on a grave for Totensonntag and, in Catholic states, for Allerheiligen; for a tribute intended for a grave, ask the cemetery about the precise location and its arrangements for accepting flowers.
