Occasions and Sympathy Flowers in Seiffen/Erzgeb.

In Germany, the celebration of Valentine's Day (Valentinstag) falls on 14 February, with red roses and mixed bouquets associated with the occasion. For Mother's Day (Muttertag), the calendar date is the second Sunday of May, with flowers among the gifts associated with the occasion. Christmas (Weihnachten) takes place on 24 and 25 December, with table arrangements, amaryllis and poinsettias associated with the occasion. The date for Sunday of the Dead (Totensonntag) is the last Sunday before Advent, with flowers used to mark remembrance at graves. Looking at German traditions, red roses can carry a romantic meaning; when choosing flowers for a friend, colleague or host, consider the message you want the gift to convey and use the personal card to make the occasion clear.

If the service takes place at Bergkirche Seiffen, the tribute usually goes to the church rather than to the family’s home; confirm the time with whoever is arranging it. When a funeral service is held at Friedhofskapelle, confirm with the parish where flowers should be delivered and by what time they need to arrive. In German practice, a funeral wreath or arrangement may carry a Schleife, a printed ribbon naming the mourner; if you want a ribbon, specify the requested wording when discussing the tribute, including the names of those sending it. For the choice of flowers, chrysanthemums, white lilies and white roses are customary choices for funeral flowers; use the occasion and the family’s preferences to guide the choice of tribute, and check the selected product for the flowers it includes. For the choice of flowers, a Grabgesteck may be placed on a grave for Totensonntag and, in Catholic states, for Allerheiligen; for a tribute intended for a grave, ask the cemetery about the precise location and its arrangements for accepting flowers.
