Same Day Delivery
When words over the phone are not landing, flowers at the door restart the conversation — and that can happen the same afternoon, not next week. Order before 14:00 local time and your bouquet can be delivered today; you pay in the currency you hold, and the order is placed and settled online. Sending flowers to El Salvador is a few minutes' work at your end, whatever time zone you happen to be working from, and it puts something in the room that a phone call cannot.
The phone call that went nowhere does not have to be the last word — pick your bouquet, write the card, and have it at their door before the day is over.
Select a city to see local florists & same-day delivery options
One thing to know first: we deliver Monday to Saturday, and that is the week your order is planned against. Bouquets follow the freshest stems of the day, so what goes out is what came in good that morning. An unavailable flower is replaced with one of equal or greater value in the same style — the look you chose holds, the money you spent holds, and the only thing that changes is which stem carries the arrangement. That judgement sits with the florist, not with a stock list.
Postal codes exist here, but they are rarely used in practice. What the florist works from is the colonia or barrio — the neighbourhood — then the street and the house number, as in Colonia Escalón, Calle Poniente, Casa #123, San Salvador. Give all of that, and add the recipient's local phone number: florists use it to confirm availability and the exact address. Apartment deliveries often need a door code — add it at checkout, at no extra cost.
There are over 100 bouquets and arrangements to choose from, and Gift Baskets, Plants and Chocolates besides. The local style is colourful and densely packed: tropical arrangements with bold contrasting hues, hand-tied and wrapped in cellophane or paper. Fern, palm leaves, eucalyptus and ruscus fill in behind roses, carnations, lilies, gladiolus, chrysanthemums, sunflowers and gerberas — the flowers a florist here is most likely to be working with on any given morning. An anniversary you want to mark properly, even from the other side of a border, is what an arrangement like that is built for.
Supply is most abundant in the dry season, roughly November to April; heavy rains from May to October can disrupt field-grown stock and increase reliance on imports. The growing sits along the Ruta de las Flores in Sonsonate — Apaneca, Juayúa, Concepción de Ataco and Salcoatitán — where hydrangeas, gladiolus, carnations, roses and gerberas are among the cut flowers raised, and the trade buys through the Mercado La Tiendona in San Salvador. Red roses are commonly given as a romantic gesture between couples. For a funeral or a wake, white lilies and white roses are conventional, and large floral wreaths, the coronas sent by family and friends, go to funeral homes and burials.
Mother's Day (Día de la Madre) on May 10 is the single largest flower-gifting day of the year, and Valentine's Day is marked on September 23 (Día del Amor y la Amistad) and increasingly on February 14 (San Valentín) too. Both are the exception to the usual schedule — florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead. On All Souls' Day (Día de los Difuntos), November 2, families bring bright chrysanthemums and gladiolus to graves. At Christmas (Navidad), December 25, poinsettias and festive arrangements go into the house. During Holy Week (Semana Santa), the week before Easter Sunday, flower carpets — alfombras of flowers and sawdust — decorate streets for processions.
Before you order, check where they actually are. Someone mid-journey — at an airport, a railway station or a cruise terminal — is almost impossible to reach with a delivery, so send to their hotel, their office or their home address instead, timed for after they arrive. If the recipient isn't home when the florist gets there, they will typically be called, or a redelivery arranged.
Most orders for El Salvador are placed from abroad, and sending from another country changes nothing at your end — order online, and the arrangement is made and delivered locally. Every order includes a free card message, printed exactly as you write it, which is the part worth slowing down for: the flowers say something arrived, the card says who from and why. Nothing else about the distance shows up at the door.
