Same Day Delivery
Order before 14:00 local time and the flowers can be in their hands the same day, with deliveries running Monday to Saturday. An anniversary you want to mark properly, even from the other side of an ocean, is the kind of date this was built for: flower delivery to Costa Rica takes about as long as choosing between the roses and the orchids. A card message comes with every order at no extra cost, printed word for word, so the sentence they read at the door is the one you wrote.
The date is yours to set and the words are already written — pick the arrangement and name the delivery day as you check out.
“The bouquet was even more beautiful than the photo. Arrived fresh, perfectly wrapped and exactly on time. My recipient was absolutely delighted. Highest recommendation.”

The calendar does the deciding for you. It offers only the dates that are genuinely available, and the date you pick is the one the florist works to, whether that is tomorrow or an anniversary three months out. A preferred time slot can be requested, though exact hours are not guaranteed: deliveries follow each florist's route and workload across the day, so an arrangement meant for the morning may arrive after lunch. Where the hour truly matters, the safer move is a day the recipient is at one address from morning to evening.
Street, code, phone. Addresses in Costa Rica typically run a five-digit postcode — for example, 10101 — and it belongs in the order alongside the street and number. Add the recipient's local phone number as well: florists use it to confirm availability and to pin down the exact address before they set out. And where the delivery is going to an apartment, put the door code in at checkout, where it takes a second and saves a courier standing at an entrance nobody answers.
Flowers are not the only thing that reaches the door. Alongside them you can send gift baskets, plants, chocolates and balloons, with over 200 flower arrangements to choose between when a bouquet is what the occasion asks for. All of it is ordered the same way, on the delivery date you set. Browse the arrangements first, then add whatever else suits the person you are sending to.
Cut flowers here come out of Cartago, the San Carlos and Zona Norte districts of Alajuela, Sarapiquí and the Caribbean lowlands around Guápiles, and heliconia, ginger lily, anthurium, orchids and bird of paradise are among what grows in them. The wholesale trade runs through CENADA, the national food supply and distribution centre, in Alajuela. That tropical climate appears to keep production steady year-round, without a strong seasonal gap. Arrangements tend to be bold and tropical, built around heliconias, gingers and anthuriums with generous foliage — ferns, monstera, philodendron, palm leaves — and hand-tied, wrapped in cellophane or paper. Red roses stay the customary gift for romantic occasions.
Mother's Day (Día de la Madre) falls on August 15, a public holiday, and appears to be the single biggest flower-gifting day of the year. Valentine's Day (Día del Amor y la Amistad) on February 14 is the other one, mostly roses. Both are the exception to the usual schedule: florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead for either. Graduation season, through November and December, is quieter but steady, with bouquets going to graduates. All Souls' Day (Día de los Difuntos), on November 2, takes families to the cemeteries with flowers for the graves, and at Christmas poinsettia (flor de pascua) does much of the decorating.
Three things are worth knowing before you order. Someone mid-journey — at an airport, a railway station, a cruise terminal — is almost impossible to reach with a delivery, so send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive. If nobody is home when the florist calls round, they will usually telephone the recipient or arrange a redelivery. And bouquets follow the freshest stems of the day: an unavailable flower is replaced with one of equal or greater value in the same style.
Sending from another country changes nothing at your end. You order and pay securely online in your own currency, and the arrangement is made and delivered locally, by a florist near the address you gave. Your family may be back home while you are not, and the occasions do not wait for your next visit — an order placed this morning closes that distance by the afternoon.

Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice. White flowers and formal wreaths are the conventional choice for a funeral here.
