For a delivery to a teacher at Regelschule Floh, write the name in full and add the class or year group where you know it; the office or the caretaker usually takes the delivery in, so the clearer the name, the surer it reaches the right person. Occasions and Sympathy Flowers in Floh-Seligenthal

In Germany, for those marking Valentine's Day (Valentinstag), the date is 14 February, with red roses and mixed bouquets associated with the occasion. The celebration of Mother's Day (Muttertag) falls on the second Sunday of May, with flowers among the gifts associated with the occasion. Christmas (Weihnachten) is marked on 24 and 25 December, with table arrangements, amaryllis and poinsettias associated with the occasion. The calendar marks Sunday of the Dead (Totensonntag) on the last Sunday before Advent, with flowers used to mark remembrance at graves. As part of German custom, red roses can carry a romantic meaning; when choosing flowers for a friend, colleague or host, consider the message you want the gift to convey and use the personal card to make the occasion clear.

For a service at Gothaische Kirche, ask which entrance is used for flowers and how early a tribute should be there. Flowers for a service at Hessische Kirche are usually taken in beforehand; the parish office can say how early the church is able to receive them. If the service takes place at Kirche Floh, the tribute usually goes to the church rather than to the family’s home; confirm the time with whoever is arranging it. Looking at German traditions, a funeral wreath or arrangement may carry a Schleife, a printed ribbon naming the mourner; if you want a ribbon, specify the requested wording when discussing the tribute, including the names of those sending it. In choosing the arrangement, chrysanthemums, white lilies and white roses are customary choices for funeral flowers; use the occasion and the family’s preferences to guide the choice of tribute, and check the selected product for the flowers it includes. When discussing the flowers, a Grabgesteck may be placed on a grave for Totensonntag and, in Catholic states, for Allerheiligen; for a tribute intended for a grave, ask the cemetery about the precise location and its arrangements for accepting flowers.
