Occasions and Sympathy Flowers in Grevenbroich

In Germany, Valentine's Day (Valentinstag) has its place in the calendar on 14 February, with red roses and mixed bouquets associated with the occasion. For Mother's Day (Muttertag), the calendar date is the second Sunday of May, with flowers among the gifts associated with the occasion. On 24 and 25 December, Christmas (Weihnachten) is celebrated, with table arrangements, amaryllis and poinsettias associated with the occasion. For those marking Sunday of the Dead (Totensonntag), the date is the last Sunday before Advent, with flowers used to mark remembrance at graves. Among German customs, red roses can carry a romantic meaning; when choosing flowers for a friend, colleague or host, consider the message you want the gift to convey and use the personal card to make the occasion clear.

When a funeral service is held at Freie Christengemeinde, confirm with the parish where flowers should be delivered and by what time they need to arrive. For a service at Christuskirche, ask which entrance is used for flowers and how early a tribute should be there. Flowers for a service at Sankt Josef are usually taken in beforehand; the parish office can say how early the church is able to receive them. In the German cultural context, a funeral wreath or arrangement may carry a Schleife, a printed ribbon naming the mourner; if you want a ribbon, specify the requested wording when discussing the tribute, including the names of those sending it. For someone choosing flowers, chrysanthemums, white lilies and white roses are customary choices for funeral flowers; use the occasion and the family’s preferences to guide the choice of tribute, and check the selected product for the flowers it includes. When discussing the flowers, a Grabgesteck may be placed on a grave for Totensonntag and, in Catholic states, for Allerheiligen; for a tribute intended for a grave, ask the cemetery about the precise location and its arrangements for accepting flowers.
