Carnations — Hungary

Order before 14:00 and the flowers can be at the door the same day, made up in Hungary by a florist working near the address rather than packed into a box and shipped. A new job, an exam passed, a graduation: the win is worth marking on the day it happens, while everyone is still talking about it. Checkout is in your own currency, paid securely online, and every order includes a free card message, printed exactly as you write it, so the words arrive with the flowers and not in a separate message an hour later.

Browse over 500 gifts, pick the delivery date at checkout, and a local florist takes it from there.

More About Carnations Delivery in Hungary

When we deliver, and when your order lands

We deliver Monday to Saturday, and the date you pick at checkout is the one the florist works to. Any future date is open to you, which is the safest way to handle a graduation or an anniversary you can see coming weeks out. An order placed after the cutoff simply moves to the next available day. Arrangements are made with what's freshest, so if a flower isn't available, the florist substitutes one of equal or greater value in a matching style, and the symmetry and the colour of what you chose still hold even when a single stem is different.

What a complete address needs, postcode included

Give the address the way it is written locally: the four-digit postcode first — 1051 for central Budapest, for example — then the town, the street and the number, and the floor and door for a flat. Add the recipient's local phone number as well, which florists use to confirm availability and to check the exact address before the driver sets out. Apartment blocks often need a door code — there is a field for it at checkout, and adding it costs nothing.

Beyond the bouquet: wine, perfume and preserved roses

Fresh flowers run to over 200 arrangements, hand-tied and wrapped in cellophane or paper, in the structured, symmetrical shape local florists tend to favour. The rest of the list covers what a bouquet cannot: wine and champagne for a celebration already under way, chocolates and cakes for the table, over 40 perfumes, gift baskets that bring several things at once, and plants for the recipient who likes a gift that goes on growing. Dried flowers, silk flowers and preserved roses keep for months instead of days. Some orders have no occasion behind them at all — a conversation that stalled on the phone often restarts at the door.

Odd numbers, name days and chrysanthemums

Stem counts matter: odd numbers for birthdays, anniversaries and other happy occasions, even numbers kept for funerals and mourning. Name days (névnap) matter as much as birthdays in many families, celebrated alongside them or sometimes instead. Roses, tulips, carnations, gerberas, lilies and chrysanthemums appear to cover most of what is sold, with ruscus, eucalyptus, fern and ivy for greenery. Tulips, gerberas, chrysanthemums, carnations and gladioli are grown domestically — around Nyíregyháza in the Nyírség, in the Kecskemét area and in the Budapest agglomeration — and are abundant from spring through early autumn, the rest of the year relying on greenhouse production and imports, mainly from the Netherlands. The wholesale trade centres on the Budapesti Nagybani Piac. At a funeral, white flowers are conventional and a wreath the traditional form.

How Women's Day and graduation season work

Women's Day on March 8 is a major flower day, a custom carried over from the socialist era. Valentine's Day on February 14 and Mother's Day on the first Sunday of May are the exception to the usual schedule — florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead. School graduation (Ballagás), from late April to early May at the school-year end, is the other bouquet-heavy stretch, with students receiving large bouquets from family and teachers. All Saints' Day on November 1 brings chrysanthemums and wreaths to cemeteries nationwide, and Christmas on December 25 puts poinsettias in the house.

If the recipient is away, or on the move

If nobody answers the door, the florist will typically call the recipient or arrange a redelivery, so a missed attempt is rarely the end of the order. Someone mid-journey is the harder case: at an airport, a railway station or a cruise terminal they are almost impossible to reach, so send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive. One more thing about timing — wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice.

Customer Questions

Carnations Delivery to Hungary — FAQs

Can I get same-day flower delivery in Hungary?

Yes — order before 14:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can I order from another country?

Yes — most orders are placed from abroad. You order online in minutes; the flowers are prepared and delivered locally.

Can I ask for a particular delivery time?

You can request a preferred time slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed — deliveries follow the local florist's routes and workload for the day. The calendar only offers dates that are available.

Can flowers be delivered to a hospital patient?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward — check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can I send flowers to someone staying in a hotel?

Yes. Include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference so reception can match the delivery to the right guest.

Can I send flowers to an office?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. Choose a day the recipient is in, within office hours.
