Flower delivery to Italy — Flowers, Plants, Gift Baskets, Chocolates

Flower delivery to Italy runs on a 16:30 cutoff: order before then, and a local florist can have the bouquet at their door the same day. Every arrangement is made up and delivered locally, by a florist working a short distance from the address you type in. So if a phone call went badly and words alone are not repairing it, flowers arriving the same afternoon restart the conversation for you. Write a card message at checkout and it travels with the flowers, free and exactly as you typed it.

Pick from over 600 bouquets and arrangements, pay for it securely in your own currency, and send one to an Italian address this afternoon.

More About Flower Delivery in Italy

How to choose the delivery day

Deliveries run Monday to Saturday, and the checkout calendar shows which dates are open, so an order placed tonight for a birthday three weeks away is as straightforward as one for tomorrow. Pick the date and the florist works to it. If a particular flower isn't in that morning, the florist swaps it for one of equal or greater value that keeps the same look, so the shape and colour you chose are what turns up at the door even when one stem has changed. Choosing the date yourself is also the surest way around a week when every florist is busy.

What a complete Italian address needs

Addresses in Italy run a five-digit CAP before the town, followed by the two-letter province code — for example, 00187 Roma RM. Include the recipient's local phone number as well: florists use it to confirm availability and the exact address, and it settles a street name that turns up in more than one town. The practical version: street and number, CAP, town, province code, and a phone number the recipient answers. That is what a florist needs before anyone sets off with a bouquet.

Bouquets, plants and chocolates we deliver

Over 1000 gifts sit alongside the flowers: Dried Flowers, Silk Flowers, Gift Baskets, Plants, Chocolates, Perfumes, Wine, Champagne, Preserved Roses, Cakes and Balloon. Over 100 of them are gift baskets, which is the answer when a single bouquet does not feel like enough for the occasion. No occasion at all is often the strongest reason of the lot: a Tuesday arrival with nothing to explain it is remembered far longer than the birthday one. Add chocolates or a bottle of wine to the bouquet before you check out.

Which flowers to send, and which to avoid

Chrysanthemums are the one to know about: they tend to be read as flowers for the dead and are not given to the living, so a bunch meant kindly can land badly. Red roses stay firmly romantic and are usually avoided between friends or colleagues. Flowers are given for a name day, the onomastico, as much as for a birthday, and a flowering plant is the more usual gift for a housewarming or a host. Commercial growing tends to be concentrated in the Riviera dei Fiori in western Liguria around Sanremo and in the Valdinievole around Pescia in Tuscany, with wholesale trade running through the Mercato dei Fiori di Sanremo; ranunculus, anemones and mimosa are at their best in winter and early spring.

The heaviest flower-buying dates of the year

All Saints' Day (Ognissanti), 1 November every year, tends to be the heaviest flower-buying day of the calendar: families take flowers to family graves, and All Souls' Day (Commemorazione dei Defunti) on 2 November carries the cemetery visiting into a second day. Women's Day (Festa della Donna), 8 March every year, moves enormous volumes of mimosa, given to women on the day. Mother's Day (Festa della Mamma), the second Sunday of May, and Valentine's Day (San Valentino), 14 February every year, are the exception to the usual week — florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead for either.

Getting flowers to someone who is out

Apartment deliveries often need a door code — add it at checkout, with the rest of the address. If the recipient isn't home, the florist will typically call them or arrange a redelivery. Someone mid-journey is a harder case: a person at an airport, a railway station or a cruise terminal is almost impossible to reach with a delivery, so send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive.

Customer FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get same-day flower delivery in Italy?

Yes — order before 16:30 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can I order from another country?

Yes — most orders for Italy are placed from abroad. You order online in minutes, and the flowers are prepared and delivered locally by a florist near the recipient.

Can flowers be delivered to a hospital?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward — check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can you deliver to a hotel guest?

Yes. Include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference, so reception can match the delivery to the right guest.

Can flowers be sent to a workplace?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. Workplace deliveries should arrive within office hours, so choose a day the recipient is in.

Can I ask for a particular delivery time?

You can request a preferred time slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed — deliveries follow the local florist's routes and workload for the day.

How much notice does a funeral wreath need?

Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice. Tributes usually go to the church or the camera ardente, the room where the body lies before the funeral, and not to the family home.
