Carnations — Sweden

Order before 14:00 and a bouquet can be at their door the same day, prepared by a local florist. You order online from wherever you are, and the arrangement is made and delivered locally rather than shipped across a border. A new baby in the family, and you are not in the country: sending flowers to Sweden puts something on the table for the parents to come home to. Checkout is in your own currency, and your card message travels with the flowers, free and exactly as you typed it.

Choose from over 400 gifts — bouquets, plants and chocolates among them — and send one to their door, whatever the occasion asks for.

More About Carnations Delivery in Sweden

Which days we deliver, and what a swap means

Deliveries run Monday to Saturday, which covers the whole week except Sunday. A Sunday date is best handled by sending on the Saturday before, when the recipient is more likely to be at home in any case. What arrives is made up on the morning it goes out: if a particular flower isn't in, the florist swaps it for one of equal or greater value that keeps the same look, so the shape and the colours you chose are what turns up at the door.

What a complete Swedish address needs

Addresses in Sweden run a five-digit postcode written as three plus two digits — for example, 114 35. Include the recipient's local phone number as well, since florists use it to confirm availability and the exact address. Apartment deliveries often need a door code, so add it at checkout when you type the street. The postcode places the delivery, the phone number confirms it, and the door code gets it past the entrance.

Plants, cakes and preserved roses alongside the flowers

Flowers are only part of what you can send. Over 200 bouquets sit beside more than 100 gift baskets, and next to those are dried flowers, silk flowers, preserved roses, plants, chocolates, perfumes, wine, champagne and cakes. Local field-grown flowers are available mainly from June to August during the short summer, and the rest of the year leans on greenhouse production and imports. A plant or a box of preserved roses keeps going long after cut stems have finished, which suits a recipient who is away for part of the week. Add one at checkout while you are choosing the flowers.

Muted arrangements, odd numbers and the wreath custom

Flower work here tends to be restrained: natural arrangements, muted colours, loose form, usually hand-tied and wrapped in simple kraft or brown paper. Florists commonly work with tulips, roses, gerbera, chrysanthemum, freesia and peonies, greened with eucalyptus, ruscus or birch. Tulips, peonies, dahlias, sweet peas and ranunculus are grown as cut flowers in Skåne, and stems also pass through wholesalers such as Blomsterlandet grossist in Helsingborg. Flowers are given in odd numbers for happy occasions; even numbers are associated with funerals and avoided as gifts. For a funeral itself the wreath — kransar — is the traditional tribute, often carrying a ribbon with a personal message, and white lilies and roses are conventional. Candles are lit beside flowers on graves around All Saints' Day (Alla helgons dag).

When to order for the big flower dates

Valentine's Day (Alla hjärtans dag) on 14 February and Mother's Day (Mors dag) on the last Sunday of May are the two dates that move the most roses and bouquets. They are the exception to the usual delivery week: florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead for both. Then there is Studenten (graduation), variable but typically late May to mid-June, when graduates are met with flowers and flower crowns, and Midsommarafton (Midsummer's Eve), the Friday between 19 and 25 June, when wildflowers are woven into crowns and maypole decorations.

Travelling recipients and missed doorsteps

Someone mid-journey — at an airport, a railway station or a cruise terminal — is almost impossible to reach with a delivery. Send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive, and the flowers are there when they arrive, not somewhere behind them. The same thinking covers a recipient who is simply out: if nobody is home, the florist typically calls them or arranges a redelivery, so a missed doorstep is usually a delay and not a lost order.

Customer Questions

Carnations Delivery to Sweden — FAQs

Can I get same-day flower delivery in Sweden?

Yes — order before 14:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can I ask for delivery at a particular time of day?

You can request a preferred time slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed — deliveries follow the local florist's routes and workload for the day. The delivery date you select at checkout is honoured.

Can flowers be delivered to a hospital?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward — check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can I send flowers to someone staying in a hotel?

Yes. Include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference so reception can match the delivery to the right guest.

Can flowers be delivered to an office?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. Workplace deliveries should arrive within office hours, so choose a day the recipient is in.

Can I send flowers to a care residence?

Yes. Include the resident's full name and, where possible, the floor or unit. It is worth checking the residence accepts flower deliveries; reception will usually pass them on.

How much notice do funeral flowers need?

Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice, so place the order as soon as the details of the service are settled.
