You can send flowers to someone in Wilmington even when you are in another country, with the arrangement prepared and delivered locally for your recipient. Think about the person receiving the flowers when making your choice, from their preferred style to whether the gift is personal or sent on behalf of others. The order can be paid for online in your own currency. You can write a message for the card without an extra charge, and the wording stays as you entered it. Check the wording and names before submitting the order, and include your signature or the names of the people sending the gift so the sender is clear. Local landmarks such as Fort Christina Memorial are how the town is usually described, though a delivery is routed by street, number and postcode rather than by landmark. Bill McGowan is one of the places that identify the town; an order still needs the street, number and postcode to reach a door.
Select a city to see local florists & same-day delivery options
Supply the full street address and postcode for the delivery town, and identify the recipient by their full name and contact telephone number. If the building requires an access code, provide it when placing the order. If the destination is in Brandywine Hills, retain the locality name as part of the full address.
For a guest at HOTEL DU PONT, confirm that the hotel accepts flower deliveries and provide the name used for the reservation. If the recipient is staying at The Westin Wilmington, ask about flower delivery arrangements and give the name on their reservation. You will find HOTEL DU PONT listed at West 11th Street 42; ask the hotel which entrance or reception point should be used when arranging the delivery.
Sending flowers to someone at CSW / CCSA Campus? Say plainly who they are for — the teacher’s full name, and the class if there is one — because whoever signs at the door is rarely the recipient. A delivery for Saint Elizabeth School is normally received by the school office or the caretaker rather than by the person it is for, so give the recipient’s full name and, where there is one, the class or department. For a delivery to a teacher at Salesianum School, write the name in full and add the class or year group where you know it; the office or the caretaker usually takes the delivery in, so the clearer the name, the surer it reaches the right person.
For a service at Cathedral of Saint Peter, ask whether the flowers should be there before the family arrives, and where in the church they are placed. Flowers for a service at Grace United Methodist Church are usually taken in beforehand; the parish office can say how early the church is able to receive them. If the service takes place at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, the tribute usually goes to the church rather than to the family’s home; confirm the time with whoever is arranging it.
An unavailable flower may be replaced with one of equal or greater value in the same style.
You may request a preferred delivery time, but an exact hour is not guaranteed: the request is a preference rather than a booked delivery appointment. Add timing preferences in the order notes.
You can pay online with Visa, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal.
If the recipient is not home, the florist usually contacts them to discuss the delivery; a further delivery attempt may be arranged.
For someone who is travelling, use a hotel, workplace or home address where they will be after arrival, rather than trying to meet them mid-journey; confirm where the recipient will actually be on the intended date before choosing the delivery destination, especially when their plans include a change of hotel or an onward journey.
For flowers addressed to someone at J. Caleb Boggs Federal Building, give the organisation and department and confirm that personal deliveries are accepted.
For an address in Brandywine Village, include the locality together with the street, number and postcode.
If flowers are going to Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery, check the opening hours for the day of the service and agree a handover point rather than relying on a plot number.
For a table booked at Cavanaugh's Restaurant, flowers are usually handed over at reception rather than carried to the table, so agree with the restaurant beforehand when and where they should arrive.
Other listed options include gift baskets, plants and chocolates. Check availability for the product you choose.
For a recipient at Christiana Care Health Services - Wilmington Hospital, check with the hospital and ward that flowers are accepted, then use the hospital’s full address.
For delivery details relating to Christiana Care Health Services - Wilmington Hospital, its listed address is West 14th Street 501; confirm the appropriate entrance or delivery point with the hospital before using this address for flowers.
