We handle flower delivery in Guernsey from Monday to Saturday, and the date is yours to set at checkout. Pay in the currency you hold — the order is placed and settled online, from whichever country you happen to be sitting in at the moment the reminder finally lands on your phone.

More About Flowers Delivery in Guernsey

Late orders and the next available day

An order that misses the deadline is not a lost one. It moves to the next available day, and the checkout calendar is where you decide which one, so a Thursday order for a Saturday arrival is a matter of two clicks. What is in the wrapping stays close to what you chose: if a particular flower isn't in that morning, the florist swaps it for one of equal or greater value that keeps the same look. If nobody answers the door, the florist will typically call the recipient or arrange a redelivery.

What the florist needs on the address line

Give the complete address: house name or number and street, the parish, the GY postcode — GY1 1AA in form — plus a phone number for the recipient. Florists use that number to confirm availability and settle the exact address before they set out, which counts for more where house names do half the navigating. Flats often need a door code — add it at checkout, at no cost. And skip an address that moves: someone at an airport or a harbour terminal is close to unreachable, so send to their hotel, office or home, timed for after they arrive.

Sending something other than cut flowers

A new job, an exam passed, a graduation you could not get back for — a delivery on the day it happens says more than a message the following week. Fresh flowers are the main event, and gift baskets, plants and chocolates sit alongside them for the recipient who would sooner have something that lasts past the weekend. Add a plant to the order if the win deserves a marker they keep on the windowsill long after the flowers have gone over.

The island that grew freesias under glass

Guernsey Lily is the local name for the nerine, and freesias and nerines are the two cut flowers still most associated with the place. The glasshouse belt in the parishes of St. Sampson and St. Peter Port once made the island known for growing freesias well outside their normal outdoor season, though that greenhouse trade has declined sharply and most cut flowers sold now are imported, with the Guernsey Flower Auction handling the growers' trade. Arranging follows the British tradition: compact, tidy hand-tied bunches in paper, with eucalyptus, fern and pittosporum behind roses, lilies, carnations and chrysanthemums.

Which dates need ordering ahead

Mother's Day (Mothering Sunday), the fourth Sunday of Lent and three weeks before Easter Sunday, and Valentine's Day on 14 February are the exception to the usual week — florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead for both. Liberation Day, on 9 May every year, brings wreaths and flowers to the memorials of the 1945 liberation, and poinsettias, wreaths and festive arrangements are widely bought for Christmas on 25 December. Sympathy notices asking for family flowers only, with donations welcome, are common, so it is worth reading the notice before ordering.

Can you send from another country?

Most people ordering do so from somewhere else entirely. You order online from wherever you are, and the arrangement is made and delivered locally, which is the whole of the difference between sending from the next parish and sending from another continent. Write a card message at checkout and it travels with the flowers, free and exactly as you typed it — the one part of the order that is unmistakably yours, at no extra charge.

Customer Questions

Flowers Delivery to Guernsey — FAQs

Can I get same-day flower delivery in Guernsey?

Yes — order before 14:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can flowers be delivered to a hospital?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward, so check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can I send flowers to a hotel guest?

Yes. Reception will ask for the reservation name and room number, so include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference.

Can flowers be delivered to a workplace?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. Choose a day the recipient is in, since workplace deliveries should arrive within office hours.

Can I send flowers to a care home?

Yes. Include the resident's full name and, where possible, the floor or unit. It is worth checking the residence accepts flower deliveries; reception will usually pass them on.

Can I ask for a particular delivery time?

You can request a preferred time slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed — deliveries follow the local florist's routes and workload for the day. The date you select at checkout is honoured.

How much notice do funeral flowers need?

Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice, so place the order as soon as the date of the service is known.
