Order before 15:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day; after that you pick the next date from the checkout calendar. It is their birthday and you cannot be there — a bouquet that turns up on the morning itself, with your words on the card, does the standing-in for you. Sending flowers to Oman asks for a name, an address and a few minutes of your evening, and you pay in the currency you hold, the order placed and settled online.
Browse the boxes and the bouquets, choose the date you want it to land on, and a florist there builds it and takes it over.

We deliver Monday to Saturday, six days in which a birthday, an engagement or an apology can be answered properly. Bouquets follow the freshest stems of the day, so an unavailable flower is replaced with one of equal or greater value in the same style — the density, the palette and the shape you chose survive the swap intact. What that buys you is a bouquet built from what actually came in that morning rather than from a photograph taken last season.
Addresses here run on PO Box addressing with a three-digit postal code — for example, P.O. Box 112, P.C. 100, Muscat. A box number alone will not get flowers into anyone's hands, which is why two other fields matter more here than almost anywhere. Include the recipient's local phone number: florists use it to confirm availability and the exact address. And if the delivery is going to an apartment, add the door code at checkout, where there is a field waiting for it.
Over 200 flower arrangements are ready to send, wrapped in cellophane with ribbon or built as the elaborate flower boxes that get given for the bigger moments. Over 30 plants sit alongside them, with gift baskets, chocolates, cakes and balloons for the celebrations that want more than stems. The morning after a first date is a good use of a small box: something that arrives while last night is still the main thing on their mind says more than a message sent three days later. Add a plant when you want the gesture still standing next month.
Roses generally lead, with orchids, lilies, carnations, gerberas and chrysanthemums behind them, arranged lush and densely packed, filled out with eucalyptus, fern and ruscus. The flower grown here in any quantity is the damask rose: it blooms around Jabal Akhdar mainly in spring, April to May, and Dhofar, around Salalah, is the other growing area. Most other cut flowers are imported year-round through Dubai, where the Dubai Flower Centre at Al Aweer is the hub florists here buy through, from producers in the Netherlands, Kenya and Ethiopia. In line with Islamic funeral tradition, flowers are generally not used at funerals or burials, where simplicity is preferred.
Eid al-Fitr, on the 1st of Shawwal, and Eid al-Adha, on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, both move with the Islamic lunar calendar, and homes and gifts are commonly dressed with flowers for the visiting either way. Ramadan begins on the 1st of Ramadan, and flowers go into homes and the majlis, the room where guests are received, for the holy month. Renaissance Day, the Sultan's Accession Day, falls on January 11 each year and Oman National Day on November 18, both marked with public and private floral displays. Weddings and engagements concentrate in the cooler months, roughly October to April. Around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, order at least 48 hours ahead.
Someone mid-journey is close to unreachable. A person at an airport, a railway station or a cruise terminal has no address for the hour they are standing in, so send to their hotel, office or home instead, timed for after they arrive. If the recipient is not home when the florist calls round, they will usually phone them or arrange a redelivery, which means a missed knock is rarely the end of the order. Before you order, settle which of their addresses will actually have someone behind the door.
Most orders for Oman are placed from abroad, by someone who cannot hand the flowers over in person. You order online from wherever you are and the arrangement is made and delivered locally, so nothing is shipped across a border and nothing arrives having spent three days in a box. Write a card message at checkout and it travels with the flowers, free and exactly as you typed it — including the line that only the two of you would understand.
