Balloon — Slovakia

Order before 14:00 and a bouquet can be at their door the same day, made up by a florist a few streets away from it. Ordering from another country takes a few minutes online, and a local florist handles the delivery itself. Last night meant something and you want the morning to say so: sending flowers to Slovakia is a decision you can make over breakfast and see landed by the afternoon. Pay in the currency you hold, and every order includes a free card message, printed exactly as you write it.

Choose from over 500 gifts and send one that a florist puts together on the morning it goes out to them.

More About Balloon Delivery in Slovakia

Delivery from Monday to Saturday, swaps included

Florists deliver Monday to Saturday, which puts six days of the week within reach and leaves Sunday out. A date that falls on a Sunday is worth moving to the Saturday, when most households are in. What goes into the wrapping depends on the morning: if a particular flower isn't in, the florist swaps it for one of equal or greater value that keeps the same look. The bouquet arrives in the shape and the colours you chose, with one stem quietly standing in for another.

Five digits, a phone number and a door code

Addresses in Slovakia run a five-digit postcode usually written with a space after the third digit — for example, 811 01 Bratislava. Include the recipient's local phone number too, because florists use it to confirm availability and the exact address. Apartment deliveries often need a door code, so add it at checkout along with the floor. Fill those in and the florist reaches the door instead of the building.

What else can go with the flowers

Over 200 bouquets are the heart of it, and over 40 perfumes sit at the other end of the same catalogue, with dried flowers, silk flowers, preserved roses, plants, gift baskets, chocolates, wine, champagne, cakes and balloons in between. They're unwell and you can't be there, so something bright for the bedside earns its place: a plant carries on long after cut stems have finished. Field-grown flowers such as tulips, dahlias and peonies are available roughly April to September, while the rest of the year runs on greenhouse production and imports, mainly from the Netherlands. Add an extra at checkout while you are choosing the flowers.

Odd numbers, ribboned bouquets and the yellow rule

Bouquets here are neat and tightly bound in the Central European tradition, increasingly blended with looser natural-style arrangements, hand-tied and wrapped in paper or cellophane and often finished with ribbon. Florists commonly reach for roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, tulips, gerberas, lilies and freesias, greened with eucalyptus, ruscus, fern, asparagus fern or salal. Tulips, gladioli, dahlias, peonies and sunflowers are grown as cut flowers in the Danubian Lowland (Podunajská nížina) and the south around Nitra, and other stems come through regional wholesale traders in Bratislava and the Dutch auctions via FloraHolland. Two habits shape the gift itself: flowers go in odd numbers, since even numbers are reserved for funerals and mourning, and yellow flowers are often avoided between romantic partners, where they can signal jealousy or a breakup.

When do florists get busiest here?

Three dates carry most of the year's flower giving. Valentine's Day on 14 February, when red roses are the strongest signal a bouquet can send; International Women's Day on 8 March, a long-standing tradition of giving flowers to women, colleagues and teachers; and Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May, one of the biggest flower occasions of the year. Valentine's Day and Mother's Day are the exception to the usual delivery week: florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead for both. On 1 and 2 November, All Saints' Day and the Day of the Dead bring large-scale buying of chrysanthemums and ribboned wreaths — vence — for graves.

Addresses that move, and doors nobody answers

A recipient mid-journey — at an airport, a railway station or a cruise terminal — is almost impossible to reach with a delivery. Send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive, so the flowers sit at a fixed address until they get there. When the door goes unanswered, the florist typically calls the recipient or arranges a redelivery, which is why the phone number matters as much as the street.

Customer Questions

Balloon Delivery to Slovakia — FAQs

Can I get same-day flower delivery in Slovakia?

Yes — order before 14:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can I ask for delivery at a particular time of day?

You can request a preferred time slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed — deliveries follow the local florist's routes and workload for the day. The delivery date you select at checkout is honoured.

Can flowers be delivered to a hospital?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward — check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can I send flowers to someone staying in a hotel?

Yes. Include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference so reception can match the delivery to the right guest.

Can flowers be delivered to a workplace?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. Workplace deliveries should arrive within office hours, so choose a day the recipient is in.

Can I send flowers to a care residence?

Yes. Include the resident's full name and, where possible, the floor or unit. It is worth checking the residence accepts flower deliveries; reception will usually pass them on.

How much notice do funeral flowers need?

Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice, so place the order as soon as the details of the service are settled.
