Flowers — Suriname

Order before 14:00 local time and the flowers can be with them before the day ends. A new baby in the family is the classic case for it: flowers for the parents, timed for when they are home to enjoy them, not left at a door with nobody behind it. Sending flowers to Suriname costs you a few minutes, wherever in the world you are ordering from — checkout is in your own currency, paid securely online, and your card message travels with the flowers, free and exactly as you typed it.

Pick your bouquet from over 100 arrangements and have it in their hands today — one order, and the florist takes care of everything after that.

More About Flowers Delivery in Suriname

Delivery days, and the swap the florist may make

We deliver Monday to Saturday, and the florist builds your order against that week. Before you order, it is worth knowing what happens when the market is short that morning: if a particular flower isn't in, the florist swaps it for one of equal or greater value that keeps the same look. Nothing is quietly downgraded, and nothing is left out to make the numbers work — the substitution is made in the shop, on the morning of the delivery, by the person putting the arrangement together.

What stands in for a postcode here?

Suriname uses no postcode — the street name and the district, often with a PO box in Paramaribo, is what the florist navigates by. Give all of it, and give the recipient's local phone number too: florists use it to confirm availability and the exact address, which matters more where there is no code to fall back on. Apartment deliveries often need a door code — add it at checkout, where it costs nothing.

Tropical bouquets and what else travels well

Flowers here run bold and tropical: arrangements built around large-leaved foliage and vividly coloured blooms, hand-tied and wrapped in cellophane or paper, often with a ribbon. Ti leaf, monstera leaves, palm fronds and ferns give them their frame; roses, anthurium, heliconia, orchids, chrysanthemums and gerberas are the blooms you will see most. Plants, gift baskets and chocolates sit alongside the bouquets for the occasions where something that lasts, or something shared, does the job better. Choose the category, then the address, and the florist works from there.

Where the flowers grow, and how they are given

The tropical climate allows year-round local growing, though heavy rains from roughly April to August can disrupt harvests, and many higher-end or temperate flowers such as roses are imported. Anthurium, heliconia, ginger lily and tropical orchids are the cut flowers grown here, in Wanica, Para, Commewijne and Saramacca, with the Centrale Markt Paramaribo among the wholesale points the trade buys through. Flowers are a common gift for Mother's Day, birthdays and anniversaries, and bright, mixed-colour tropical bouquets tend to be favoured over single-colour ones. For a funeral, white flowers and wreaths are conventional across the country's Christian, Hindu and Muslim communities, with standing wreaths and floral crosses placed at the funeral home or gravesite. Saying goodbye from far away, the flowers stand in for you at the service.

Mother's Day, Diwali and the wreath-laying dates

Mother's Day, the second Sunday of May, and Valentine's Day on February 14 are the exception to the usual schedule — florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead for both. Diwali, whose date varies with the Hindu lunar calendar and usually falls in October or November, brings flowers into homes and temple offerings, and Christmas on December 25 puts poinsettias and festive arrangements in the house. Emancipation Day (Keti Koti) on July 1 and Suriname Independence Day on November 25 are marked with wreaths, floral tributes and wreath-laying ceremonies.

How to send when they are not at the address

Not every recipient is where you think they are. Someone mid-journey — at an airport, a railway station or a cruise terminal — is almost impossible to reach with a delivery, so send to their hotel, their office or their home address instead, timed for after they arrive. And when the doorbell goes unanswered, the order does not end there: the florist typically calls the recipient or arranges redelivery.

Ordering from abroad, in a few minutes

Most of these orders are placed from abroad, by someone who will not see the flowers arrive. Ordering from another country takes a few minutes online, and a local florist handles the delivery — nothing crosses a border except your instructions. In practice, that means the same checkout whether you are ordering from the next street or from another hemisphere, and the same florist doing the work at the other end.

Customer Questions

Flowers Delivery to Suriname — FAQs

Can I get same-day flower delivery in Suriname?

Yes — order before 14:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can I order today for delivery next week?

Yes. You can pick any future delivery date at checkout, which is the safest option around busy periods. The calendar only offers dates that are available.

Can I ask for a particular delivery time?

You can request a preferred time slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed — deliveries follow the local florist's routes and workload for the day.

Can flowers be delivered to a hospital patient?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward — check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can I send flowers to someone staying in a hotel?

Yes. Reception will ask for the reservation name and room number, so include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference.

Can flowers be sent to a workplace?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. Pick a day the recipient is in, within office hours.

How much notice do funeral flowers need?

Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice, so place the order once the date and place of the service are known.
