Order before 20:00 local time and your flowers can still reach them the same day, arranged and delivered by a florist in the city they live in. That late cutoff covers the whole working day and most of the evening after it, so an idea you have at supper is not an idea you have to postpone. No occasion at all is often the one that lands hardest — no birthday, no anniversary, nothing but the fact that you thought of them. Checkout is in your own currency, paid securely online, wherever in the world you are sitting.
Choose the bouquet, name the day, and a florist in the country will make it up and deliver it by hand.

Deliveries run Monday to Saturday, which gives you six days to work with when you pick a date at checkout. Choose one and the local florist builds to it. Flowers are a living stock, though, and if a particular flower isn't in that morning, the florist swaps it for one of equal or greater value that keeps the same look — the colour, the scale and the shape you chose stay as they are. If the recipient isn't home when the driver arrives, the florist will typically call them or arrange redelivery.
Addresses in Vietnam run a 6-digit postcode — for example, 100000 for central Hanoi. Give the street and number, the ward and district, and that postcode, and include the recipient's local phone number: florists use it to confirm availability and the exact address before they set out. Apartment deliveries often need a door code, so add it at checkout. And if the person is mid-journey, an airport or railway station is close to impossible to deliver to — send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive.
There are over 200 flower arrangements to choose from, and over 300 gifts in total once gift baskets, plants, chocolates, perfumes and preserved roses are counted in. The local hand is dense and brightly coloured, symmetrical, packed with blooms instead of left airy. Fern, asparagus fern, ming fern and dracaena leaves fill out the shape, and bouquets are usually hand-tied and wrapped in cellophane or paper with a ribbon. Roses, chrysanthemums, lilies, gladiolus, orchids and marigolds are the stems you will see most often. Pick the one you want and a florist builds it that morning.
Local growing is concentrated in Da Lat, in Sa Dec in Dong Thap, and in Tay Tuu and Me Linh outside Hanoi, where roses, chrysanthemums, gladiolus, carnations and lilies are cut. Production peaks sharply in the weeks before Tet, the Lunar New Year, when regions like Da Lat and Sa Dec ramp up volume; demand and imports of premium stems rise again around Valentine's Day and Women's Day in March. Hanoi's Quang Ba flower market and Ho Thi Ky flower market in Ho Chi Minh City are where much of that stock changes hands. One custom worth knowing: celebratory bouquets are given in odd numbers, since even numbers carry a funeral association.
Tet, movable on the lunar calendar and typically falling between late January and mid-February, brings peach blossom in the north and apricot blossom in the south into every house, with kumquat trees and fresh flowers as essential decoration. International Women's Day, on 8 March, is one of the largest flower-gifting days, with roses widely given. Vietnamese Women's Day follows on 20 October, when flowers go to women, colleagues and family, and on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, 20 November, students and parents traditionally thank their teachers with flowers. Valentine's Day, 14 February, is the exception to the usual schedule: florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. For it and for Mother's Day, order at least 48 hours ahead.
Saying goodbye from another country is hard, and flowers stand in for you at the service. White chrysanthemums are the conventional funeral flower, white lilies are commonly included, and large standing wreaths carrying ribboned condolence messages are what family and colleagues present at funerals and wakes. The same association is why white flowers, and white chrysanthemums in particular, are generally avoided as everyday gifts, and why the lotus, with its meaning of purity, belongs to religious and reflective settings more than to casual giving. Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice.
You order online from wherever you are and the arrangement is made and delivered locally, so distance costs you nothing but a few minutes at a keyboard. Write a card message at checkout and it travels with the flowers, free and exactly as you typed it — worth doing carefully, because the recipient reads the card before anyone explains who sent it. Add it before you confirm the order.
