More About Flowers Delivery in Tuvalu

Choosing the delivery date, and what happens on the day

You pick the delivery date yourself at checkout, and the calendar only offers dates that are genuinely available — so the day you select is the day the florist works to. A particular time of day is a different matter. You can ask for a preferred slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed, because deliveries follow the local florist's routes and workload for the day. And if the recipient is out when the florist arrives, they will typically call them or arrange a redelivery, so an empty house is rarely the end of it.

What a Tuvalu address needs instead of a postcode

Tuvalu uses no postcode — a PO Box in Funafuti is what the florist navigates by. That puts more weight on the rest of the address, and most of all on the recipient's local phone number: florists use it to confirm availability and to settle exactly where the flowers are going before they set out. Give it even if you think the address is clear on its own. Where the delivery is going to an apartment, add the door code at checkout rather than assuming someone will be at the entrance to let the courier through.

Over 100 arrangements, plus baskets, plants and chocolates

An anniversary you want to mark properly from the other side of the world is a good test of the range: bouquets are the core of it, and gift baskets, plants and chocolates sit alongside them when flowers alone are not the whole gift. What grows here is tropical and constant. Frangipani and hibiscus come from home gardens the year round, which is worth knowing because there is no formal commercial cut-flower trade on the islands, so what is available shifts with what the gardens are giving.

Garlands, crowns and the flowers of the home garden

The local flower tradition is worn more often than it is set on a table. Fresh flowers tend to be strung into garlands — fou, the flower necklace given to welcome a visitor — or woven into head crowns, made to be worn on the day and made from what is at hand: frangipani, hibiscus, coconut palm fronds and pandanus leaves. Remembrance follows the same plainness. Frangipani and other fresh local flowers are placed on graves as a mark of respect for the person being remembered. Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice.

Which dates call for flowers here?

Independence Day (Tuvalu Day), 1 October, is a public holiday marked with garlands and flower crowns worn as part of traditional dress. National Gospel Day, the second Monday of November, is a public holiday too, and the church services and community feasts held that day carry floral decoration and garlands of their own. Two dates from outside that local calendar drive the real ordering pressure: around Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, order at least 48 hours ahead.

How to keep a delivery from going astray

Bouquets follow the freshest stems of the day, which means an unavailable flower is replaced with one of equal or greater value in the same style, and the arrangement keeps the look you chose. The other common misstep is the address itself. Someone mid-journey — at an airport, a railway station or a cruise terminal — is almost impossible to reach with a delivery, so send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive, not for the day they set off.

Customer Questions

Flowers Delivery to Tuvalu — FAQs

Can I get same-day flower delivery?

Yes — order before 14:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can I order from another country?

Yes — most orders for the islands are placed from abroad. You order online in minutes; the flowers are prepared and delivered locally.

Can flowers be delivered to a hospital patient?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward — check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can I send flowers to a hotel guest?

Yes. Include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference so reception can match the delivery to the right guest.

Can flowers be delivered to a workplace?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. Workplace deliveries should arrive within office hours, so pick a day the recipient is in.

Can I send flowers to a care home or residence?

Yes. Include the resident's full name and, where possible, the floor or unit. It is worth checking the residence accepts flower deliveries; reception will usually pass them on.
