A continent away, and the flowers are still chosen and made up locally on the day you order — place it before 14:00 local time and they can be at the bedside the same day. Select a city to see local florists & same-day delivery options
Deliveries run Monday to Saturday, which is the week the florists work to. Bouquets follow the freshest stems of the day, and an unavailable flower is replaced with one of equal or greater value in the same style — the value only ever moves upward. Workplace deliveries should arrive within office hours, so choose a day the recipient is in. If the recipient isn't home, the florist typically calls them or arranges redelivery. Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice.
Give the complete address: the street and number, the four-digit postal code — 1209 for central Asunción — and the city, plus a phone number for the recipient. Florists use that number to confirm availability and the exact address. Apartment deliveries often need a door code, so add it at checkout. And someone mid-journey — at an airport, railway station or cruise terminal — is almost impossible to reach with a delivery; send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive.
Over 20 plants sit alongside the flowers, with gift baskets and chocolates as well. The local look is colourful and densely packed, with a tropical influence: roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, gerberas, lilies and daisies are the stems you will typically see, and fern, eucalyptus, ruscus and aralia leaves fill in between them. Bouquets come hand-tied, wrapped in cellophane or paper and finished with ribbon. Pick the arrangement and the florist builds to that shape.
Flower growing clusters around Areguá, Ypané, San Bernardino and Luque, and roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, gladiolus and daisies are the cut crops that come out of them; red roses are the common romantic gift. Field-grown supply is most abundant in spring and summer, roughly September to March, while cooler months lean more on greenhouse production and on imports from neighbouring countries such as Argentina and Colombia. Wholesale trade runs through the Mercado de Abasto in Asunción. For funerals, white flowers — lilies and chrysanthemums above all — are traditional, and coronas, the standing floral wreaths, are commonly sent to funeral homes and wakes.
Mother's Day (Día de la Madre) on 15 May is the exception to the usual week — florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Around Mother's Day and Valentine's Day, order at least 48 hours ahead. It is the country's top flower-gifting occasion, and it shares its date with Independence Day. On 21 September, flowers and especially roses are exchanged among students and friends for Spring, Student and Friendship Day. Women's Day (Día de la Mujer) on 8 March is another day flowers are commonly given. All Souls' Day (Día de los Difuntos, Todos los Santos) on 1-2 November takes cut flowers to the cemeteries. Christmas (Navidad) on 25 December brings flowers into decoration and gifts.
Most orders for Paraguay are placed from abroad, so ordering from outside is the normal case rather than the exception. Sending from another country changes nothing at your end: you order online, and the arrangement is made and delivered locally. The distance is yours to feel, not the order's to carry. Choose the arrangement, and the local end carries it the rest of the way.
