Flower Delivery in Colombia — Flowers, Plants, Chocolates and Cakes

Flower delivery across Colombia starts with the clock: order before 15:00 local time and your flowers can be in their hands the same day. Deliveries run Monday to Saturday. Perhaps someone went out of their way for you last week, and a thank-you that turns up at their door says more than another message on a screen ever manages to. Write whatever you want on the card and it is printed exactly as you wrote it, at no extra cost, on every order and whatever date you settle on.

Choose from over 200 flower arrangements and set the delivery date as you check out — today is still on the list until the cutoff passes.

More About Flowers Delivery in Colombia

Can you pick the day and the time?

You can pick the day. The checkout calendar offers the dates that are genuinely available, and the one you choose is the one the florist works to, including a date weeks out for a birthday you would rather not think about again. A preferred time slot can be requested, though exact hours are not guaranteed: deliveries follow each florist's route and workload for that day. And if a particular flower is not in that morning, the florist swaps it for one of equal or greater value that keeps the same look.

What a complete address needs

Three things carry a delivery to the right door. Addresses in Colombia typically run a six-digit postal code (código postal) — for example, 110111 for Bogotá. Add the recipient's local phone number, which florists use to confirm availability and pin down the exact address before they set out. And where the delivery is going to an apartment, the door code belongs at checkout with the rest of it: a courier standing at a locked entrance has no way up to the flat.

Beyond flowers: plants, cakes and balloons

Not every message wants a bouquet. Alongside flowers you can send gift baskets, plants, chocolates, cakes and balloons, and there are over 20 plants to choose between for someone who would rather keep something growing. Chocolates and cakes suit the birthdays and the congratulations where the gift is expected to be opened instead of put in water. Pick whichever fits the person and the delivery date is set the same way for all of them.

Growing regions, market stems and gifting colours

Cut flowers here are grown on the Sabana de Bogotá and around Antioquia's Rionegro and Oriente Antioqueño, and roses, carnations, chrysanthemums, hydrangeas and alstroemeria all come out of those growing regions; the wholesale trade passes through Corabastos in Bogotá. The equatorial climate and greenhouse cultivation appear to allow production nearly year-round, with volumes lifted ahead of the year's two biggest gifting peaks. Local bouquets tend to be full and densely packed, hand-tied and wrapped in coloured cellophane or kraft paper with a ribbon, and eucalyptus, ferns, ruscus, aralia and pittosporum are the greenery most often used to fill them out. Bright reds, yellows and oranges are generally favoured over pastel tones for a gift.

When to order for Mother's Day and Valentine's Day

Mother's Day (Día de la Madre), the second Sunday of May, is among the largest domestic flower-gifting occasions of the year, and flowers are the customary gift. Valentine's Day (Día de San Valentín / Día del Amor y la Amistad), on February 14, runs on roses, with carnations close behind — the two flowers most commonly given for romantic and family occasions. Both dates are the exception to the usual schedule: florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead. Later in the year, All Souls' Day (Día de los Fieles Difuntos, also Día de Todos los Santos) on November 1-2 takes families to the cemeteries with fresh flowers.

Reaching a recipient who is not at home

Someone mid-journey — at an airport, a railway station, a cruise terminal — is close to impossible to reach with a delivery, and the address stops being an address the moment they move on. Send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive. At a home address where nobody answers the door, the florist will usually telephone the recipient or arrange a redelivery rather than leave the flowers outside.

Ordering from outside Colombia

You do not have to be in the country, or to hold its money. Order online from wherever you are and pay in the currency you already have — the order is placed and settled online, in the time it takes to choose. From there it is local work: the arrangement is made and delivered locally, by a florist close to the recipient's address, on the date you picked.

Customer Questions

Flowers Delivery to Colombia — FAQs

Can I get same-day flower delivery in Colombia?

Yes — order before 15:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can you deliver flowers to a hospital?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward — check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can flowers be delivered to a hotel guest?

Yes. Include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference so reception can match the delivery to the right guest.

Can I send flowers to someone's workplace?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. It is best arriving within office hours, so choose a day the recipient is in.

Can flowers go to a care residence?

Yes. Include the resident's full name and, where possible, the floor or unit. It is worth checking the residence accepts flower deliveries; reception will usually pass them on.

How much notice do funeral flowers need?

Wreaths and formal funeral pieces need 24–48 hours' notice. White flowers, especially lilies and white roses, are the conventional choice for funerals and wakes.
