Flower delivery to the United States

Order before 12:00 and the flowers can be delivered the same day, with deliveries running Monday to Saturday. There is a new baby in the family and you are somewhere else: choose the day the parents will be home rather than the day the news arrived, and the bouquet meets them there. Sending flowers to the United States starts with what you want said — write the card message at checkout and it travels with the flowers, free and exactly as you typed it.

Choose the arrangement you want, write the card message that goes with it, and place your order before today's cutoff, and it can be with them before the day is over.

More About Flowers Delivery in United States

Choosing a date that isn't today

Not every gift wants to arrive within the hour. Pick any future delivery date at checkout and the order waits for it, which is the safer route around the busy weeks when every florist in the country is working through a queue. The calendar only shows dates that can actually be worked, so nothing you can select is a date we cannot keep. Set it now, while you are thinking about it.

What does a US address need at checkout?

Addresses in the United States run to a five-digit ZIP code, sometimes extended to ZIP+4 — for example, 90210 or 90210-1234. Add the recipient's local phone number alongside it: florists use it to confirm availability and to pin down the exact address before they set out. Apartment deliveries often need a door code, so put that in the delivery notes too.

Beyond a dozen roses: plants, baskets and chocolates

Flowers are the core of it, with over 100 arrangements to choose from, and the stems that turn up most are rose and carnation, tulip and lily, chrysanthemum, sunflower, hydrangea and orchid, cut with eucalyptus, leatherleaf fern, ruscus, salal or huckleberry. Arrangements here tend to run full and abundant, with big showy blooms and layered colour, wrapped in cellophane or paper or set in a glass vase for delivery. Gift Baskets, Plants and Chocolates sit beside them, and if you are sending for no occasion at all — which is exactly what makes it land — any of the four does the job.

Field seasons, imported stems and sympathy custom

Dahlias, sunflowers and zinnias grown at home peak from roughly May through October, and the rest of the year leans heavily on roses and other stems imported from Colombia and Ecuador. Domestic cutting is concentrated on the California Central Coast and in the Salinas Valley, with the Willamette Valley in Oregon, the Skagit Valley in Washington and Florida adding to it; peonies, ranunculus, lisianthus, stock and snapdragons are cut domestically too, and the trade moves through the Los Angeles Flower District and New York's Chelsea Flower District on 28th Street. White lilies and white flowers broadly are the conventional choice, with standing sprays and casket sprays sent to the funeral home and wreaths or floral baskets sent to the family's house instead. Formal pieces need 24–48 hours' notice.

When should you order for the big flower days?

Valentine's Day on February 14 and Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May are the exception to the usual schedule — florists open for the big flower days, so your order can arrive even when the date falls on a Sunday. Order at least 48 hours ahead. Red roses are the customary Valentine's gift and bouquets with lilies or spring flowers the customary Mother's Day one. Easter brings lilies and spring bouquets for church and home, Administrative Professionals Day on the Wednesday of the last full week of April sends flowers to office staff, and prom weekends across April and May run on corsages and boutonnieres. Thanksgiving centrepieces and Christmas poinsettias close the year.

Where should you send when they are away?

Someone mid-journey — at an airport, railway station or cruise terminal — is almost impossible to reach with a delivery. Send to their hotel, office or home address instead, timed for after they arrive. If the recipient is not home when the flowers turn up, the florist typically calls them or arranges redelivery. And what goes in the wrapping follows the freshest stems of the day: an unavailable flower is replaced with one of equal or greater value in the same style.

Ordering from abroad, paying in your own currency

Half a world away, and the flowers are still made up close to the recipient on the day you choose. You order online from wherever you are; the arrangement is made and delivered locally, by a florist working in the town where it has to land. Checkout is in your own currency, paid securely online. Place the order from wherever you happen to be.

Customer Questions

Flowers Delivery to United States — FAQs

Can I get same-day flower delivery in the United States?

Yes — order before 12:00 local time and your flowers can be delivered the same day. Orders placed after the cutoff are delivered on the next available day you choose at checkout.

Can I ask for a particular delivery time?

You can request a preferred time slot, but exact times cannot be guaranteed — deliveries follow the local florist's routes and workload for the day. The date you select at checkout is honoured.

Can flowers be delivered to a hospital?

Acceptance depends on the hospital and ward, so check before ordering; otherwise delivery goes to reception. Use the hospital's own city and full address, with the patient's full name and, where possible, the ward or room.

Can I send flowers to a hotel guest?

Yes. Include the guest's full name and, if you can, their arrival date or booking reference, so reception can match the delivery to the right guest. Receptions ask for the reservation name and room number.

Can flowers be delivered to an office?

Yes — include the company name and, if you know it, the floor or department, and the delivery goes to reception. Workplace deliveries should arrive within office hours, so choose a day the recipient is in.

Can flowers be delivered to a care residence?

Yes. Include the resident's full name and, where possible, the floor or unit. It is worth checking the residence accepts flower deliveries; reception will usually pass them on.
